It has been said that the destiny of man is to; become God, as God is God.  This is a VERY broad and all encompassing statement.  This statement tends to create in the mind of the hearer, the idea, that man shall be completely equal with God!  There is absolutely nothing in all the bible that produces such an impression, therefore this idea needs some clarification.

I will answer thee,  that GOD is GREATER than man,  Job 33:12.  Truly, truly...The servant is NOT GREATER than his Lord; neither he that is sent greater than He that sent him,  Joh 13:16.  My Father is GREATER than I,  Joh 14:28.  The servant is NOT greater than his Lord,  Joh 15:20.  

We are commanded to HONOUR OUR FATHER AND MOTHER,  Ex 20:12.  If God be our Father, Gal 4:5-7, Rom 8:14-16;  Then we must HONOUR GOD as GREATER than us!

Consider this.  The sacrifice of Christ, could only atone for mankind, if Christ were greater than ALL MEN.  Now, if He be greater than all men, how much greater is He than EACH man?  Brethren, our prayers have been hindered because we have allowed the leaven of self importance to deceive us.

Brethren, we shall become gods;  I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the MOST HIGH,  Psalm 82:6.  Yet the ETERNAL  is God of gods and Lord of lords,  Deu 10:17.  The ETERNAL IS GREATER THAN ALL GODS Ex 18:11.

Truly, we shall be changed and given a new body, made like unto His glorious body Philip 3:21, and we shall be like Him, in the same way that CHILDREN ARE LIKE THEIR FATHERS.  But children can NEVER BE THE EQUALS OF THEIR PARENTS.  We shall become the CHILDREN OF GOD, being  SUBJECT to our FATHER.  And we shall become the BRIDE OF CHRIST,  SUBJECT TO HIM, like a wife should be subject to her husband.  WE SHALL, NEVER BE EQUAL WITH ALMIGHTY GOD!

The creation can NEVER be greater than the CREATOR, nor can children be greater than their Father.  Brethren, MANKIND IS THE CREATION OF GOD and WE MAY BE REBORN  AS SPIRITUAL SONS OF GOD!
