My Hopes For You (A Letter to the Son I Carry) by Lanette Kissel I would hope you invite Christ into your life. Just know that He will always be there. There is nothing too great or too small. You can take it all to the Lord in prayer. I would hope you learn to practice compassion, a quality this world is needful of, That you will be capable of feeling emotion, that you will be able to express love. I would hope you can learn to be patient, and that you will learn how to cope, That you will realize in your darkest hours that there is always hope. I would hope you will learn the value of showing your fellow man respect, That you will learn to value your quiet time and take the chance to reflect. I would hope that true love finds you at the right moment in your life, That you will find your heart’s soul mate, and that she will become your wife. I would hope you would have a family, that children are part of your plan, That you will be an involved and caring father, a genuine family man. I would hope you realize that accumulated wealth is only monetary treasure, That integrity, character, and a life well lived are truly a man’s measure. The very last hope I have for you I will now to you impart. Instead of thinking with your head, I hope you’ll think with your heart. |
