I Am

I am a girl who loves to sing to myself, and loves my mom.
I wonder if my dad will ever get up when he says so,
I hear my sister not begging for candy,
I see myself with a million dollars,
I want to be able to enjoy school,

I pretend that I can fly,
I feel a ghost touching my hand,
I touch the clouds above me,
I worry about falling out of my dreams,
I cry when my dad yells at me,
I am a girl who loves to sing to myself, and loves my mom.
I understand that I will never fly,
I say why not try something once,
I dream that my cousin and I will become singers,
I hope my parents are truly happy,
